Field Includes Reigning Indy 500 Champion Josef Newgarden, Two-Time NTT INDYCAR Series Champion Alex Palou and Six-Time INDYCAR Champion Scott Dixon Double Duty – James Hinchcliffe to Participate in Race and Serve as Race Analyst 14 NBC Sports Motorsports Commentators to Call Historic Endurance Race From Daytona International Speedway Monster Energy Supercross Season Continues in Anaheim Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET Exclusively on Peacock; Race Day Live Begins at 3 p.m. ET STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 24, 2024 – NBC Sports begins its coverage of the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season with comprehensive live coverage of the 62nd Rolex 24 At Daytona endurance race from Daytona International Speedway this weekend on Peacock, NBC, and USA Network. This year’s race features a star-studded cast of the world’s most well-known drivers competing, including the three of the four most recent INDYCAR champions in Alex Palou, Scott Dixon, and Josef Newgardenas well as Marcus Ericsson, Colton Herta, Jenson Button, Roman Grosjean, and Scott McLaughlin. The Rolex 24 At Daytona features icons of the racing world competing on teams across five separate classes of competition: Grand Touring Prototype (GTP), Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2), Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3), GT Daytona Pro (GTD PRO), and GT Daytona (GTD). Palou, the reigning INDYCAR champion, aims to earn his first Rolex 24 victory in the GTP class with Cadillac Racing. In order to handle the 24 consecutive hours of coverage, NBC Sports will utilize 14 of its IMSA, NASCAR and INDYCAR commentators, analysts and reporters on-site at Daytona International Speedway, including its lead IMSA commentating team of play-by-play voice Leigh Diffey alongside 1990 Rolex 24 winner and former IMSA GT driver and analyst Calvin Fish and 2014 Rolex 24 winner and analyst Townsend Bell. NBC Sports NASCAR analyst Steve Letarte and Brian Till will also serve as analysts during the endurance race. Letarte and fellow NBC Sports NASCAR analyst Jeff Burton will join INDYCAR analyst James Hinchcliffeand Marty Snider to provide analysis and anchor coverage from the Peacock Pit Box on pit road. Hinchcliffe will be pulling double duty this weekend, as the former INDYCAR driver will also be competing in the GT Daytona Pro class with McLaren 720S GT3 Evo. Kevin Lee, Parker Kligerman, Dillon Welch, Hannah Newhouse, and Matt Yocum will serve as pit reporters throughout the race. Dave Burns will also serve as play-by-play commentator. Peacock serves as the streaming home of the WeatherTech Championship with flag-to-flag live coverage of all races as well as exclusive coverage for portions of select endurance races, including this weekend’s Rolex 24 At Daytona.
