Ryan Truex takes to the track at ISM Raceway for JR Motorsports on March 9 and he’ll be wearing colors that represent as good a cause as you can imagine.
Earlier today, on JRM General Manager Kelley Earnhardt Miller’s “Beyond Racing” SiriusXM Radio broadcast, Sherry Pollex announced that Truex’s No. 8 JRM Chevrolet Camaro will carry a white, teal, yellow and black scheme in honor of Catwalk for a Cause, which raises funds and awareness for heroes fighting cancer.
Pollex, longtime girlfriend of 2017 NASCAR Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr., is in remission from ovarian cancer. The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation led the way in supporting cancer initiatives at Atrium Health and Novant Health in Charlotte, N.C. as well as helping drive awareness, boost advocacy and generate financial support for underfunded cancer research initiatives specific to ovarian and childhood cancers.
One of the primary drivers for the funding needed is the 10th annual Catwalk for a Cause, which will be presented for the 10th time on May 15 at the Statesville (N.C.) Regional Airport.
Part of the proceeds from Catwalk for a Cause will go toward two projects with Novant Health: the SherryStrong Integrative Oncology Clinic in Charlotte, and the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation Children’s Emergency Department in Huntersville, N.C.
Please check out the Martin Truex Jr. Foundationpage. The Foundation is seeking $10 donations from 100,000 donors to further aid the programs.
