News broke via Social Media that Blake Koch will return to Xfinty competition in 2019 driving the #4 for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller.
“I started FilterTime.com to be able to get my self back in a car and sponsor myself, I worked my butt off this year after losing my sponsor and ride, and now I’m proud to announce that thanks to all the fans and FilterTime customers I will be back in a car for JD Motorsports in the [No.] 4 car with FilterTime.com as the sponsor for Daytona.”
Koch added that his goals for the season are to “promote my business FilterTime.com and really utilize this opportunity to build my company bigger — and on the racing side, the goal is to make the playoffs.” JD Motorsports is expected to keep running as a four car team in 2019.
Blake takes over the ride from departing driver Ross Chastain who heads to Chip Ganassi Racing’s #42 Xfinty Team in 2019. Most recently Blake has served as a driver coach for Harrison Burton, Matt Tifft and Myatt Snider which as kept him in the garage area.
Blake’s last on track Xfinty action was in the #11 Chevy for Kaulig Racing but was replaced before the 2018 season by Ryan Truex. Blake has also served as a NASCAR Race Hub Xfinty Analyst during the 2018 season.
